Audio Visual Arena (AVAlab)
A windowless lab equipped with three desktop PCs with NVIDIA GeForce graphics cards, three HTC Vives (two with a wireless adapter, the one on the right with a pupil labs eye tracker add-on), and a VirZoom bike.
For access to the laboratory, write an email to Kasper Rodil: kr@create.aau.dk with the following information:
Subject field: “access AVA Lab”
- Name of all students in the group
- Studycard number for all students in the group
- A short summary of project/reason for access
- Name of supervisor (or semester coordinator if no supervisor)
- How long access is needed
When your request has been approved, your info will be forwarded to facility services who will grant access on your cards.
There is no entry in the AVA Lab without a booking (and no re-entry if the room is not tidied up after use).
1 time slot = 4 Hours (08-12 – or 12-16)
Booking max 1 week ahead – Monday to Friday. Booking +1 week not allowed.
Maximum of two time slots a week for each group (without special permission from supervisor)
No multi bookings (more than one lab resource) allowed at once pr group (without special permission from supervisor)
If your booking does not comply with the above rules the request will be rejected.

DO NOT UNPLUG ANYTHING FROM THE COMPUTERS
DO NOT UPDATE SOFTWARE
DO NOT INSTALL NEW SOFTWARE WITHOUT PERMISSION
SAVE YOUR WORK ON THE D:/ DRIVE NOT THE DESKTOP
EQUIPMENT THAT IS NOT NORMALLY IN ROOM WILL BE REMOVED.

For booking: Please check the following lab resources/calendars (in mail.aau.dk or Outlook):
Book the computers by scheduling a meeting with the “resource” / “room”
rdb14-avalab-a@create.aau.dk (for the computer on the left-hand side of the room) or
rdb14-avalab-b@create.aau.dk (for the computer on the right-hand side) or
rdb14-avalab-c@create.aau.dk (for the computer to the right of the entrance).
Using webmail: mail.aau.dk :
Select Calendar/Schedule a meeting.
Set “resource”/”Room” to correct above emailadr.
In “To…” section also include the same emailadr – and then all the group members if necessary.
In “Subject” write your group number.
Text field: Either description of project – or project name (can also be in “subject” ;-) )
Make sure that you make the time shown as “Busy”.
Using outlook:
Calendar > New Appointment> Subject “Add Group number”> Text Field: Either description of project – or project name (can also be in “subject” ;-) ) > change the start and end time> Invite Attendees > In the To add Group mates >
then either:
Scheduling Assistant > Add Room > find the room or add then email in the end.
Or
Room > find the room or add the email in the end.
Find the room or add the email in the “To:” field (again!).
If you choose a facility/lab that already has been booked, your request will be rejected automatically. When the request has been approved/rejected you will receive a calendar notice.
