You can apply for exam exemptions in the following cases:

• If you need additional exam attempts (4th or 5th attempt)
• The first-year rule/12 month rule: If you have not participated actively (not passing is ok) in all your first-year exams.
• The first-year rule/24-month rule: If you have not passed all first-year exams by the end of your 4th semester.
• Study inactivity: If you haven't passed any exams in the last 12 months.
• Maternity leave
• Special exam conditions: E.g. if you need extended examination time
• Postponement of deadline for submission of written assignments
• Other topics

You can usually expect a reply within two weeks from the day the study board has received your application, but it can sometimes take longer.

Each application is evaluated individually, and the time it takes for your study board to get back to you may vary.

They may need more information from you, or they may have to bring up your application at the next study board meeting before they can give you an answer.
