BROWN BAG: THE MEANING OF DISTANCE BETWEEN RESIDENCE AND PLACE OF TREATMENT FOR FAMILIES AFFECTED BY PEDIATRIC CANCER
Despite technological developments and globalization, there are still situations where geographical distance in km and time matters. The starting point of the presentation will be my PhD project, where I study social consequences of distance between residence and place of treatment for families affected by pediatric cancer. How to understand and include distance is an important discussion, and in the presentation, I am both going to dive into the quantitative measurement of distance and the theoretical understanding of distance in the project.
